CLEVELAND — Police and CSX officials are investigating an early morning train derailment that occurred near West 130th Street and Enterprise Avenue in Cleveland. There were no reports of injuries among the 11-member crew and the cause of the derailment has not been determined, according to CSX.
CSX spokeswoman Meg Sacks said the train was coming from Buffalo, N.Y. on its way to Willard, in Huron County, when it derailed around 6 a.m. today just south of the intersection of West 130th Street and Enterprise Avenue. Eleven of the 88 cars were derailed in the accident, she said.
The train had three locomotives, 22 cars carrying non-hazardous, mixed merchandise and 66 empty cars, Sacks said. The derailment was cleaned up by 6:30 p.m. and the trains should all be running by Monday morning, she said.
