WASHINGTON, D.C. — According to a report from Platts.com, Norfolk Southern predicted that the continued hot weather in America will keep its coal shipments high throughout the remainder of 2011 due to strong demand for electricity. The railroad also predicted the international market will remain strong for exported U.S. coal into 2012, Platts said.
