NORFOLK, Va. — F. Blair Wimbush has been named vice president real estate for Norfolk Southern Corporation, with office in Norfolk, effective June 1.
Reporting to Daniel D. Smith, senior vice president energy and properties, Wimbush will lead Norfolk Southern’s efforts to maximize the value of its real estate portfolio.
Wimbush joined Norfolk Southern in 1980 as an attorney in Roanoke and subsequently held a number of key positions in the law department. He was named senior general counsel, his most recent position, in 2002. Wimbush earned degrees in political science from the University of Rochester in 1977 and in law from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1980. In 2004, he completed the Advanced Management Program at the Harvard Business School.
