NORFOLK, Va. — The price of Norfolk Southern Corp.’s stock closed at a record $116.60 on Monday, up $3.74 a share from Friday’s previous record of $112.86. The boost came within days of media reports that Canadian Pacific Railway Ltd. might try to buy the Norfolk-based railroad.
