North American crude by rail movements are expected to gain pace in growing production regions, such as the Permian Basin, as investors continue to look beyond the Bakken Shale.
Industry participants are making bets as to where future waves of crude by rail interest will surface. Aside from the front runner — the Permian in West Texas — other areas include Western Canada, Colorado and Wyoming’s Niobrara Shale and, in the future, Mexico, analysts said this week.
