NORFOLK, Va. — Norfolk Southern has ceased operations through the area of Hannibal, Missouri, as a result of flooding of the Mississippi River. Traffic is being rerouted around this area. Customers can anticipate delays as a result. Norfolk Southern will continue to monitor this situation in order to restore normal service as soon as possible.
Note to customers with committed service agreements: Norfolk Southern is invoking Force Majeure effective 8 a.m., June 14, 2008.
