ARCADIA, Ohio — A Norfolk Southern derailment in rural Ohio has been blamed on a broken rail. The February 6, 2011, derailment of 33 NS cars was caused by head and web separation, according to the Federal Railroad Administration. The ethanol train derailed at 2:15 a.m. February 6, 2011, and 20 people were evacuated from their homes when large amounts of ethanol caught fire following the crash.
