NORFOLK, Va. — Norfolk Southern continues to work to restore normal operations across a wide area that was hit with a winter storm over the weekend. Power outages in many of the hardest hit areas of western North Carolina, western Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, and eastern Pennsylvania are limiting both road and local service operations. Customers with shipments moving through these areas should expect delays of up to 72 hours.
Local service is being restored, but in many area will be provided later than normal service windows. And, some of the hardest hit areas, local service will not be available until operating conditions allow.
