NORFOLK, Va. — Norfolk Southern continues to work to restore service to the mainline east of Asheville, NC following a washout that occurred at the end of May. Due to the extensive work that is required to repair the line, NS’s current projection is to return the line to service in early July. Shipments that typically travel between Asheville, N.C. and Linwood, N.C. are being re-routed and customers should expect delays up to 72 hours.
