GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. — A deadly crash involving a commuter train and a pickup hauling a trailer has prompted the nation’s top safety review board to recommend that GPS and route-planning services incorporate information about railroad crossing grades into their apps. The National Transportation Safety Board issued its recommendation along with its findings on Monday into the Feb. 24, 2015, crash between an Amtrak Metrolink Train and a 2005 Ford F450 service truck towing a 2000 Wells Cargo two-axle utility trailer. The crash occurred in the predawn hours in Oxnard, Calif.
