WASHINGTON, D.C. — The National Transportation Safety Board today released a preliminary report on its investigation into the December 1, 2013 Metro-North Railroad accident that occurred in Bronx, New York.

The southbound train, which consisted of seven passenger cars and one locomotive, derailed on the Metro-North Hudson Line. Four individuals were killed as a result of the derailment and dozens of others were injured.
