According to Progressive Railroading, the nation’s Class 1 workforce stood at 159,340 as of mid-Une, up 1.2 percent from May’s level and 5.2 percent from June 2010’s count. The information was taken from a Surface Transportation Board (STB) report.
Compared with May figures, the number of transportation (T&E) ranks increased 1.6 percent to 64,111.
