BEECH GROVE, Ind. — Both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are in Indiana today, trying to pick up support from working families.
Obama and his wife Michelle were talking about middle-class tax cuts; Clinton continued calling for a suspension of the federal gas tax this summer.
The Obamas headed to Beech Grove, where 77 jobs are threatened this summer at a local Amtrak facility. Clinton was in the northwest corner of the state and argued Obama has been insensitive to the needs of working families.
The Indiana and North Carolina primaries are next Teusday. While most polls have shown Obama favored in North Carolina, the race in Indiana is considered far to close to call.
Obama picked up the backing of 3 superdelegates during the day to Clinton’s two, continuing to expand his overall delegate lead.
After the lunch in Beech Grove, Obama headed to an Indianapolis park for a town hall meeting before about 30 people.
