BOSTON — Retired railroad union leader Charles F. “Charlie” Moneypenny Jr. of Cohasset, formerly of Dorchester and South Boston, passed away on May 13, 2008. He was a top legislative official with the Transport Workers Union of America (TWU) for many years.
Beloved husband of Digna Emmanuelli Moneypenny. Son of the late Charles F. and Frances (Marsh) Moneypenny. Loving father of Charles “Che” Kevin Moneypenny and Hillary Frances Moneypenny. Loving brother of Frances (Moneypenny) and Richard G. Kelly, Sr. of Rockland. Dear son-in-law of Ivan and Nilda Emmanuelli. Dear Brother-in-law of Edda and Gino Perez, Lorraine and Luis Basalo and Ivan “Vachi” Emmanuelli, Jr. Loving uncle of 1st SGT Richard G. Kelly, Jr. of Fort Jackson, SC, Greg and Sarah Kelly of Sierra Vista, AZ, and Beth and Anthony Palino, Jr. of Pembroke. Dear “brother” of Kevin Lydon of East Bridgewater and Michael McDevitt of Quincy. Also survived by 3 grandnieces and 2 grandnephews.
Funeral from The O’Brien Funeral Home, 146 Dorchester St., South Boston, Saturday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Brigid’s Church at 10 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 PM. Interment will be private.
