OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — The Oklahoma City bomb squad is working to dispose of several possible bombs along railroad tracks at SE 34 Street and Shields Boulevard.

Police have been on the scene since about 5 p.m. A resident said he saw a man speeding along the 200 block of SE 34 and throwing out several devices. The resident investigated and called police after finding what looked like bombs, said police Lt. Jeff Cooper.

The bomb squad had detonated three of the devices by 10:30 p.m.

Also on the scene are representatives of the BNSF Railway, the FBI, the local cell of the Department of Justice’s Joint Terrorism Task Force and the Red Cross.

An official with the BNSF said the incident has backed up four trains, including one Amtrak train. By 11:30 p.m., he said three more trains will be stalled.

Officials said it will be at least 12:30 a.m. before the area is cleared.
