BECKLEY, W.Va. — One year ago today, Lynn Huddleston was in her Adena home with her daughter less than a half-mile from where 27 tanker cars filled with crude oil derailed along Armstrong Creek and the Kanawha River in Mount Carbon. One tanker car struck and destroyed a home when it caught fire. Subsequent tankers began exploding as first responders struggled to reach the site of the accident. Snowy conditions made access difficult.
