WASHINGTON, D.C. — Operation Lifesaver, the national non-profit rail safety education organization, is celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2022. Today, the Operation Lifesaver, Inc. (OLI) national office releases the first of 12 monthly interactive online Tuesday Train Track Trivia games to celebrate #50YearsofRailSafety.

“Every three hours in the United States, a person or vehicle is hit by a train. Each month during our 50th Anniversary in 2022, Operation Lifesaver is releasing a new Tuesday Train Track Trivia online rail safety game and challenging people to test their knowledge of rail safety and train trivia,” said OLI Executive Director Rachel Maleh. “Tuesday Train Track Trivia is a fun way to see how much you know about staying safe around railroad tracks and trains! We encourage everyone to go to oli.org each month for the newest game and to share these games with friends and family.”

Tuesday Train Track Trivia players compete to see how many questions they can correctly answer, to include:

  • Recognizing rail safety signs and signals
  • Answering questions on railroad history
  • Knowing what to do in rail safety scenarios

After completing the game, players may play again to improve their score.

“Operation Lifesaver offers free rail safety presentations in communities across the country. Visit oli.org today to request a presentation, find additional rail safety materials, connect with your state coordinator or learn how to become a volunteer. Together, we can stop track tragedies,” Maleh concluded.
