MONTREAL — Canadian Pacific Railway says company operations are returning to normal after Parliament ordered striking workers back on the job.

The union representing the 4,800 strikers, the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference, asked its members to end their walkout after federal back-to-work legislation became law Thursday night.

The workers, including locomotive engineers, conductors, yardmen and others, walked out May 23, forcing Canada’s second-biggest railway to shut down freight operations.
