BOSTON — There he was again – an MBTA police officer on TV, pleading with the public to leave their cars at home and take the train to the Red Sox rolling rally. By most estimates, two million visitors invaded the city to get a peek at their heroes. That advice about cars was good, except for one minor issue: Our trains rusted away – as they have on weekends and holidays since July 7, 2012 – on the Kingston/Plymouth and Greenbush rail lines.
