NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The large Class-1 railroads have spent much of this Tennessee legislative session attempting to convince legislators, and now the general public, that they should not have to pay taxes on diesel fuel. As chairman of the Tennessee Short Line Railroad Alliance, I thought it was important that we set the record straight about the claims of the Class-1 railroads.
