NEWARK, N.J. — Gov. Chris Christie’s sudden embrace of President Obama following Hurricane Sandy’s crushing blow was a memorable surprise during Election 2012’s final week.
Now, as New Jersey commuters continue suffering, it’s time for Christie to make another about-face that would be far more enduring and impactful for residents of the Garden State: Concede that the state’s rail transportation infrastructure is outmoded and embrace a trans-Hudson passenger rail tunnel similar to the one he enthusiastically killed two years ago.
