OMAHA, Neb. — Ross Rowland organized the American Freedom Train that steamed around the country to celebrate the nation’s 1976 Bicentennial. Now the railroad enthusiast from Pottstown, Pennsylvania, is organizing the Yellow Ribbon Express to commemorate World War I’s centennial. He hopes to raise $1 billion for veterans and to bring history to life for millions of people in 125 cities, including Omaha and Lincoln.
