JERSEY CITY, N.J. — PATH service resumed between Newark and Journal Square after a repair train fire sent commuters scrambling Wednesday.

There were delays of 10 to 15 minutes, Port Authority spokesman Pasquale DiFulco said.

No passenger trains or other vehicles were involved, and no one was hurt. Three workers on the repair train escaped unharmed.

NJ Transit trains and buses honored PATH tickets for people making connections between New York and New Jersey. Shuttle buses also were running.

The fire broke out while the PATH repair vehicle was on the eastbound track between Harrison and Journal Square.

The Port Authority was investigating what caused the blaze.
