The members of BLET Division 13 in La Crosse, Wisc., are raising awareness for the plight of Brother Josh Bliss. The Vice President of Division 13, Brother Bliss has battled cancer since 2022 but is now at stage four after it has spread from his kidney to his lungs.
“After four years of fighting cancer, our friend and loved one, Josh Bliss, needs a helping hand,” said Mike Banks, Local Chairman of Division 13. “For almost 20 years, Josh worked every shift available outdoors in the Wisconsin weather in what can be a physically demanding job. The last four years of his career, he worked this demanding job while also going through chemotherapy. He suffered through this without complaint to provide the income needed for his 11-year-old daughter and his wife of 18 years, and also for the insurance to afford his fight against cancer. Josh’s health has recently forced him to permanently step away from his career, while he focuses on trying to extend his life and spending what precious time he has left with his family. Josh always showed up for work with a smile and a positive attitude. He will be missed greatly in the workplace by all his co-workers.”
Banks said Division 13 has established a GoFundMe to assist Brother Bliss and his family with medical costs and living expenses. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
