ALBANY, N.Y. — Alstom intends to snag at least a portion of the potentially huge Positive Train Control market. The company already has done some train control work for Amtrak.
The first in a series of large PTC contracts comes up for bid in February with New Jersey Transit. The competition will likely be fierce, involving industrial giants such as General Electric Co. and Lockheed Martin Corp. as well as Alstom.
