GALESBURG, Ill. — Illinois State Rep. Don Moffitt said a U.S. House of Representatives subcommittee proposal that would have cut federal funding for state-supported Amtrak service is dead for now. According to the Galesburg Register-Mail, it is estimated Amtrak provides about $188 million to state-supported service in 15 states.
