Quebec at front of the line of MMA creditors, but could step aside for victims

MONTREAL — Creditor protection is not necessarily the beginning of the end for a company, but it will be in the case of the Montreal, Maine & Atlantic Railway. While it continues to operate for the time being, primarily to maintain and maximize the value of its assets, nobody’s suggesting it’s in it for the long haul.
