NEWARK — Each time James Weinstein explains how NJ Transit left 300 rail cars exposed to the floodwaters of Hurricane Sandy, he becomes a little more stern, more resolute. NJ Transit said it sustained an estimated $100 million in damages to cars and locomotives during the storm, the majority of which were stationed in Kearny.
