TAMPA — Rail cars carrying anhydrous ammonia derailed Wednesday morning at the Port of Tampa.
No ammonia leaked, authorities said, but one worker was injured after he jumped off a moving railcar.
A Tampa Fire Rescue hazardous material team arrived at Maritime Boulevard and Shoreline Avenue about 9:15 a.m.
Paramedics treated the injured worker at the scene and took him to a local hospital, said fire Capt. Bill Wade.
Each car holds about 30,000 gallons of anhydrous ammonia. The rail cars were not damaged, and CSX is working to get the cars back on the track.
