WACO, Texas — A train that derailed while switching to another set of tracks in Waco on Sunday afternoon left no one injured and didn’t spill the grain it was carrying, Waco Assistant Fire Chief Joe Molina said.

At 12:06 p.m. the Waco fire and police departments responded to rail lines just north of 32nd Street and Franklin Avenue, where approximately seven cars had jumped the track, Molina said.

“There was a problem with the rails,” Molina said.

The train belonged to Union Pacific, although Molina said he didn’t know where it was headed. Equipment was brought in to put the cars back on the tracks.
