DALLAS, Texas — Union Pacific crews have cleared the site of a derailment in the town of West that left five cars off the tracks.

Nobody was hurt.

UP spokesman Mark Davis told The Associated Press that yesterday’s derailment — before dawn — involved a train traveling from Fort Worth to San Antonio.

Davis says three of the derailed cars were hauling fertilizer. He says none of the cargo spilled.

Davis says the other two cars were empty.

Parts of downtown West were closed during the cleanup, which wrapped up by late afternoon.

West is about 15 miles north of Waco.
