COLUMBUS, Ohio — RailAmerica Inc. of Boca Raton, Fla., has agreed to buy a portion of track between Columbus and Cincinnati from CSX Corp.
The two rail freight companies did not disclose financial terms of the deal, adding it has not officially closed. RailAmerica said it plans to combine the 107-mile section with its Indiana & Ohio Central Railroad division that will run 18,000 carloads a year over the line.
Jacksonville, Fla.-based CSX will also lease the line’s right-of-way to RailAmerica.
