NEW YORK — Shares of some top railroads companies were up at the close of trading:
CSX rose $1.70 or 3.4 percent, to $51.72.
Canadian National rose $2.19 or 3.7 percent, to $61.29.
Canadian Pacific rose $1.97 or 3.5 percent, to $57.86.
Kansas City Southern rose $1.45 or 4.0 percent, to $37.45.
Norfolk Southern rose $1.57 or 3.0 percent, to $54.72.
Union Pacific rose $3.28 or 4.7 percent, to $72.40.
