CSX rose $2.06 or 4.1 percent, to $51.95.
Canadian National rose $1.94 or 3.2 percent, to $62.96.
Canadian Pacific rose $1.99 or 3.4 percent, to $60.97.
Kansas City Southern rose $1.82 or 5.4 percent, to $35.39.
Norfolk Southern rose $2.34 or 4.4 percent, to $56.02.
Union Pacific rose $3.44 or 4.7 percent, to $76.38.
