ENOLA, Pa. — An employee of the Norfolk Southern railroad died Monday when a hydraulic ramp weighing nearly 4,000 pounds collapsed on him, the Associated Press reported.

Cumberland County coroner Michael L. Norris said Dennis Sellers, 49, of Hollidaysburg, died of chest injuries.

A railroad spokesman would not confirm the identity.

“He was working on a hydraulic ramp when the ramp collapsed on him,” Norfolk Southern spokesman Rudy Husband said.

The hydraulic ramp that landed on Sellers weighs almost 4,000 pounds, Norris said.

Husband wouldn’t say what kind of work the man was doing and said officials were investigating whether he had followed proper safety procedures. He said the railroad car maintenance shop where the employee worked has an excellent safety record.
