SUPERIOR, Wisc. — Superior police and fire departments responded to an industrial accident at the Union Pacific rail yard shortly after noon today, according to a news release issued by Superior Police Capt. Matt Markon.

Upon arrival at the yard in Itasca, police located a railroad employee who had been struck by a train.

The victim was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center, Duluth, with a serious leg injury. The exact nature of the accident was unknown.

The victim’s name was withheld.
