SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — A near-miss at the rural crossing in Nevada where Amtrak’s California Zephyr was hit by a tractor trailer, killing six, was just reason why the crossing was worrisome for Nevada railroaders. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, they felt it was just a matter o ftime before something bad happened at the crossing.
