WASHINGTON, D.C. — Rising floodwaters on the Missouri River have begun disrupting some rail operations, just the latest in a series of weather problems for U.S. railroads in recent weeks.
BNSF Railway, which was already battling floods that have closed some tracks in Montana and North Dakota, had another section shut at Omaha, Neb., this week when local officials built up levees over the track.
Union Pacific Railroad warned customers it would be difficult to predict service levels in flooded areas.
