WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — According to Reuters, RailWorks Corp., a railroad construction company, said on Wednesday it has emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization as a private company.

Based in White Plains, New York, the now four-year-old company filed for protection on Sept. 20, 2001 with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Baltimore. It said the court approved its reorganization plan on Oct. 1. The original bankruptcy filing did not include RailWorks’ Canadian operations.

RailWorks said it recently integrated its specialized unit companies into two divisions, Transit Systems and Track Products & Services, operating under the RailWorks name. The company announced new top management in July.
