DETROIT — U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood this morning praised Detroit leaders and Michigan lawmakers for creating a regional transit authority and raising funds to build a 3.3-mile light-rail project along the city’s Woodward Avenue corridor. LaHood, speaking to reporters before touring the North American International Auto Show, is expected to deliver $25 million for the M1 project in an event Friday in Detroit.
