CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Rep. Nick Rahall says West Virginia is getting $1 million in federal funding to assess the state’s rail network.
The West Virginia Democrat said Thursday the funding goes to the State Rail Authority. The agency will match the federal funding.
Rahall says the state will spend about 20 months coming up with a plan covering freight, intercity, Amtrak, tourist trains, and commuter and high speed rail.
