CHICAGO — Richton Park is getting $80,000 from Canadian National Railway in relation to the company’s acquisition of the EJ&E railroad tracks that run through the village.

Train traffic through the village is expected to increase from a few trains a day to more than 28 a day because of the acquisition.

Village officials said the money will be used to put up safety fences around Glaeser Park, train fire and police personnel and promote the village’s industrial park with the creation of a rail spur.
