CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. — Last week a tanker loaded with ethanol escaped CSX railroad workers in the Whitesville area and barreled down the tracks and through the city of Crawfordsville. The runaway tanker, which can hold up to 30,000 gallons of liquid, eventually came to a stop approximately three miles north of Crawfordsville at a bridge that crosses Sugar Creek. The railroad car came to rest close to Concord Road. It is unclear how much ethanol was in the tanker at the time of the incident.
