ALBANY, N.Y. — U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer, who was accompanied by Federal Railroad Administrator Sarah Feinberg, came to Schenectady’s aging Amtrak station Wednesday to make his case for a $33 million grant that would help build a Positive Train Control system on a 94-mile stretch of track between Amsterdam and Poughkeepsie, which would include the northern section of the highly popular Rensselaer-to-New York City Amtrak run.
