BERGEN, N.Y. — United States Sen. Charles Schumer had a simple message for CSX Railroad Tuesday.

“Foot-dragging is unacceptable,” he said during a Tuesday afternoon visit to the village.

Schumer was referring to millions of federal dollars that are available, but unused, to start construction of railroad tracks for high-speed passenger trains in Genesee County. The senator conducted a news conference at Miller’s Millworks, next to CSX lines, on North Lake Avenue, and pointed a finger at the freight-hauling company for not signing the necessary agreements.
