NORFOLK, Va. — Donald W. Seale has been named executive vice president and chief marketing officer for Norfolk Southern Corporation (NYSE: NSC) , the company announced today.

Seale assumes the responsibilities held by L.I. “Ike” Prillaman, who retired April 1 as vice chairman and chief marketing officer, after a 36-year railroad career.

Seale joined Norfolk Southern in 1976 and served in a number of sales and marketing positions, including senior vice president merchandise marketing and senior vice president marketing services, before being named executive vice president sales and marketing in 2004.

Prillaman joined Norfolk Southern in 1970 and served in various positions in auditing, accounting and properties before being named executive vice president marketing in 1995 and vice chairman and chief marketing officer in 1998.
