WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Senate is poised to pass a transportation bill that contains what could end up being a posthumous provision from New Jersey Sen. Frank Lautenberg.

The Democrat, who died June 3, had requested $15 million in fiscal 2014 funding for the Gateway project, which would build two rail runnels between New Jersey and Midtown Manhattan to accommodate extra Amtrak and NJ Transit commuter trains.
