WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation approved President Obama’s nominees for appointments to the Surface Transportation Board and Federal Maritime Commission, sending them to the full Senate for ratification.
The committee voted Thursday to approve Ann D. Begeman to join the three-person STB that regulates disputes between railroads and their freight customers. Begeman would replace Charles D. Nottingham, who is stepping down as of March 18.
