WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee will hold a voting or “markup” session Nov. 9 on a two-year surface transportation funding bill.

The bipartisan bill is named “Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century” or MAP-21. According to the Journal of Commerce, the bill keeps spending for highway and transit programs at current levels plus inflation, along with measures to boost leveraging of federal dollars with more infrastructure loans.
