WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Journal of Commerce reports that late on Thursday, the Senate passed a “clean” bill to extend the Federal Aviation Administration’s operations through Jan. 31, 2012, thereby avoiding a shutdown. The same bill extends highway spending through March 31, 2012, and quells fears of partisan fires reigniting in Washington, the Journal of Commerce said.
